If you liked it then you should’ve put a PIN on it…

In the beginning we couldn’t understand all the hype around pinning… “So what!?! You just start collecting things you like? What’s the big deal?!? That’s definitely NOT going to catch on…”

Fast forward a couple of months and we’ve (shamefully) jumped on the Pinterest bandwagon! Such a simple idea (honestly, who doesn’t love collecting things) and the amazing things is that it’s the perfect tool for those of us in the early stages of wedding planning (and especially those who are too lazy to start clipping magazines for an “inspiration file”… *guilty*). If you have yet to catch the Pinterest bug, it’s as simple as seeing something you like online and pinning it to one of your category boards. You can be as broad or as detailed with your pinboards as you like, from “wedding decor” to “wedding favors”, the world is your oyster!

We’ve been carefully curating inspiration boards of all things dreamy and bridal, so let us inspire you and follow us on Pinterest!

The sight of Tiffany blue anything is sure to set any girl’s heart a flutter. Kerri and Matt’s white wedding was no exception with touches of the signature hue accenting the almost all-white wedding and our Chiffon Bow Clutch under Kerri’s arm to boot!

Thanks to Kaitlin from OMG Photography for sharing these beautiful photos!

Watch out bridal bigwigs, Anthropologie has now added bridal into the mix! The retailer of all things whimsical and sweet in fashion and decor has opened the virtual doors of BHLDN.

“Inspired by the Dutch word for “to keep,” as well as countless tales from family and friends of the extraordinary weddings they’d been part of, we began dreaming up something new.

Be you. Be loved. BHLDN”

This bridal boutique is anything but cookie cutter. Dreamy shifts,  charming frocks and out-of-the-ordinary gowns grace its virtual pages. As a wedding photographer, it’s only natural that Laura lives, breathes and dreams weddings.  When she’s not photographing someone’s special day, she’s definitely thinking about it. New palettes, fresh decor, dreamy frocks… But fret not, her inspirations aren’t lost! Rather they’ve been carefully collected and lovingly organized into The Artful Bride.

One of our customizable bridesmaids sets made her idea list, describing our clutches as being the perfect combination of gift and accessory, especially for brides on a budget. And who says that everything bridesmaid needs to match? Gone are the days of clone bridesmaids in carbon copy dresses and accessories! Today’s brides are adding a little personality to each lady in the bridal party with unique dresses and accessories brought together by a common colour palette. Just brilliant.

Shopaholics Unite – definitely a cause I can support!

Launched earlier this year, Shopaholics Unite, seeks to do just that – unite shopaholics over the latest trends, sales and closet treasures.  The shopping blog began as a means of recycling founder, Alisa’s, vast personal inventory of clothing, shoes and accessories, so that they could be re-worked and re-vamped into another well-deserving wardrobe. Since then the blog has expanded to sell a plethora of new and “slightly loved” pieces.

We were lucky enough to be featured as the blog’s first up-and-coming label to watch. Alisa sat down with Fumi, talking about everything from how it began to advice for new entrepreneurs.

I guess it’s a little unfair that all this time we’ve been favouring the girls – clutches, hairpins, veils… but what about the boys?!?!

As much as I’d like to see a groom and his groomsmen walking down the aisle with matching clutches, I’m not so sure that too many guys would have Terrence Howard’s confidence.

So to avoid the wrath of grooms and groomsmen the world over, we’ve come up with something to satisfy the more masculine taste…

INTRODUCING: DAVIE & CHIYO SILK NECKTIES!

Each tie is made with Dupioni silk and is lovingly hand-stitched to perfection. Like our clutches, a luxurious tie would make a wonderful gift for your groomsmen. And by that I mean ties for your groomsmen, like clutches for your bridesmaids… although if you think your groomsmen could rock a clutch like Terrence Howard, by all means!

We’ve also made things easy by taking care of the colour-matching. It’s always such a headache matching swatches and finding out that the perfect accessory just isn’t the perfect shade but since both our ties and clutches are customizable, you can be sure that they’ll be perfectly matched.

Calling all Vancouverites!

Davie & Chiyo has officially found a new home at Fine Finds in Yaletown, Vancouver’s lavish boutique and eatery district. Fine Finds has always been a must-see (and must-have) when I’m shopping for a new season or just on the hunt for a new accessory. The exposed-brick boutique features local designers, cute trinkets and an endless array of covetable pieces, and is a definitely a staple for the style savvy and fashion driven.

We’re part of the boutique’s new “Weddings and Milestones” department, which they just debuted this past January. You’ll be able to find all of those finishing touches for the wedding of your dreams and daydreams – delicate veils, memorable wedding gifts and favors, and above all, the  perfect accessories.

So if browsing our virtual shop isn’t enough for you, be sure to pop into Fine Finds to see, touch (and smell?) a D&C clutch of your very own.

After weeks of gloom and grey, Spring is in the air! Okay, so we’re not quite out of the dark yet but a week of glorious Vancouver sun has wiped any memory of our rainy winter. (A beautiful Vancouver day can do that to you. Why do you think Vancouverites continue to live here through the rain and exorbitantly high cost of living? We’re not stupid, just forgiving…)

So what if it’s still below 5 degrees, I’m wearing a winter wool coat and can sometimes see my breath on my post-workday walk home…? The sun and Robson street store displays are telling me otherwise. I’m heading into spring and I’m not looking back!

And all of us on team D&C can say the same. Thoughts of summer blooms, garden parties and beach-side picnics have got our creative juices flowing…

Introducing the NEW Summer Garden Clutch!

The fresh new design features beautiful pleats that converge at the kiss-lock closure in a petal-inspired pattern. Vibrant prints bring this little clutch to life in colours like bright fuchsia, black and white. The smaller, circular shape makes for a more compact clutch that is perfect for a lipstick, compact and all the essentials, and to make this clutch even better is the adjustable chain that takes you from wristlet to over-the-shoulder.

Happy (garden) partying!

Since becoming the resident blogger for an Etsy-er, I have become Etsy obsessed! I love all things Etsy and before I head out to buy a new piece for my wardrobe or apartment, I’m always sure to consult Etsy first. You can get amazingly unique pieces that you can almost be certain won’t be worn by someone else at the party.

The same goes for bridal. You can get beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces that are lovingly handcrafted, and since they aren’t carried at every bridal boutique in town, they’re sure to be showstoppers.

Wedding Style Magazine seems to be on the same page (no pun intended) with their “For the Love of Etsy” spread, which features our Ivory Rosa Iceberg Clutch. If you’re loving this clutch, stop by the Wedding Style Bridal Show being held at the Visalia Convention Center in Visalia, CA on March 20, 2011. You can enter for a chance to win this clutch as well as all of the other Etsy items in the spread.
